Night Sky

One day last week I wanted to go paint somewhere but it got late and was really too dark to set out. It seemed like a good opportunity to try doing a nocturne painting. I set up in the front yard next to the driveway and looked down the street toward the remains of the evening light. There was a quarter moon and Jupiter that seemed like they should go into the picture too.   It was a real problem trying to get a good scan of this painting and the one I got was the best I could get after much fooling. I used a lot of medium on this and it dries kind of shiny, unfortunately wreaking havoc with the scanner, especially in dark and black areas.
