The pears got too ripe - we had to eat them. So this is last of the pears for a while, 5.5 x 7.

Another pear, 5.5 x 7. Have run out of 6 x 8 boards temporarily and have cut up my 11 x 14 boards into 4 pieces.

Okay, so the book says to do 100 small paintings of one thing, one a day or so, and the author/artist suggests pears as a topic (because they are not just round but have various plane changes), so here goes. This one is 5.5 x 7.

Small paintings

I have been trying to work on smaller paintings, trying to do several a week, as advocated by a book I am reading. But it also seems to be a big trendy thing these days all over the art blogosphere  to produce at least one small painting a day - hard to accomplish with a busy schedule but I am trying to do them when I can. I've done a bunch of 6 x 8 's and they are slowly improving.  Here's a recent new smaller painting - (not one of the really small ones - this one is 16 x 20)  Red Cliffs, oil.

Mountain Oyster Club Show

My painting "Oxbows" was accepted into the Mountain Oyster Club annual show in Tucson. This is a show I have never entered before- exciting to be in something new.

Artists of Colorado Exhibition

One picture of mine has been accepted into the14th annual Artists of Colorado exhibition at 910Arts gallery in Denver.  Here's a picture of the one they are taking. The show will be up from mid-October the the beginning of December.
